“Bilingüismo: ganho cultural ou mais um motivo para o fracasso escolar” - by Heloísa Calazan, UFRJ.

This article aims to discuss about the cognitive development of children which are exposed to bilingual education. The bases of this discussion are the theories of Piaget and Emília Ferrero. The author also proposes means through which the learning would have positive impacts into the children’s development. She also proposes that the teaching of a second language should have a natural approach and should be similar to the teaching of mother tongue, what includes another vision of the world and another way of thinking (ideology).
